ID: 2116 Category: Software Installation Support Status: Resolved Views: 156

Question:

I bought a laptop &x28HP&x29 and it came with Windows Vista Home edition and I want to replace it with Windows XP pro can I do that and if so how?

Solution:

br /It is possible to replace your operating system, although you will have to completely backup your system first, as you wil have to reformat your hard drive to do so. You will need to call your  laptop manufacturer to verify that all of the software and device drivers for your machine are XP backwards compatable. You will also need to ensure that you void no warantees putting a different OS onto the system.br /br /You cannot upgrade to windows XP from vista. Although personally, I would consider it an upgrade.br /br /Here is a link to our OEM version of Windows XP.br /br /XP will be discontinued by MS this June 2008.br /br /br /div align"center"font color"ca6500"- UPDATED: 4/28/2008 1:38:39 PM BY AGENT: Help Desk -/font/divbr /
