Question:
I have an old Pionex computer with Windows 98 OS. I want to upgrade to Windows XP Home Edition with SP2. Do you have a product version of XP that will make the transition fairly seamless?
Solution:
Yes. Either the Full Retail Box or the Upgrade function as a samless ugrade. This is condidtional that all of your programs are compatable with XP of course. All of your files and directory structures will be preserved as will any windows settings you have for email and other communications and web applications. I would check to see if your older machine can run XP as it is a little heavier on its requirements for RAM and drive space. You can always install a new hard drive if necessary, its a really painless procedure with windows XP. Windows XP is a far superior operating system to 98 and its evil cousin ME. I would recommend the PRO version though, if you are planning on using your machine to do anything advanced, like doing network stuff or playing heavy 3d games. If you have any special requirements then get in touch and we can help you further. We can also give you advice on which system requirements will best suit you if you decide to replace your old machine.
