Apple is bringing a new, all-round laptop onto the market.
The new MacBook will offer an Intel Core Duo processor and a 13-inch widescreen display with 1 280 by 800 pixel resolution.
It will work up to five times faster than the iBook and rounds out Apple's Intel-based laptop line.
An integrated video camera as well as WLAN, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and Ethernet ports are also part of the standard equipment. Also included is the Lifestyle suite iLife '06, with programs for editing digital media, as well as the current version of the Mac operating system, OS X 10.4.6 Tiger.
The device will be available in stores at about $1 000, Apple reports.
